At Woods Cross we are lucky enough to have some really GREAT teachers who donate a little bit of their time each week to help students who are struggling in Math or just need a little EXTRA help! I talked to a lot of students who went to these tutoring sessions and I got comments like “Math tutoring is great, you really get some good one-on-one time with the math teachers for help!”
Another student said, “Math has always been my hardest subject to get a good grade in, but with the math tutoring each week if I am not understanding something very well all you have to do is go in and tell them exactly what it is you’re not understanding and you’ll instantly get help with that chapter or section that you are having a hard time with!”
I also asked students what they would tell people who have never been to the tutoring sessions. They said, “At first I thought it was going to be intimidating when I went in, but once you ask the teacher for help they are really nice and helpful. So, if you are questioning whether to go in or not DO IT! It makes life so much easier that trying to figure it out on your own!”
Students, if you’re trying to end the term on a good note and having a hard time with math or any other core classes…look into tutoring and see if it would help you out. All the students I talked to had a positive message to say about it and said that it really made their life a lot easier to just ask for help! If you have any questions about math tutoring just ask Mrs. Atwood, she is one of the helpful teachers there!
