Someone who loves math and has an outstanding ability in that field of expertise is a rare find, but Tessa Sommer does not lack in arithmetic talent. Tessa is a bright senior who loves to focus on her school work. With this work comes the new responsibility of being a Sterling Scholar.
Tessa loves math, so she couldn’t be happier with the subject that she won. She also applied for the Social Science category which was her second choice, but she is proud of her achievements and is content with the outcome, as she says, “I am very happy that I got it!”
Sommer says she is surprised that she has the great opportunity to represent the school, and plans to continue her hard work and effort. She is involved in things like, volunteering at hospitals, HOSA, PTSA board, Honor Society, Academic Olympiad, Engineering and a lot of AP classes. Sommer gives the tip to future runners, “make sure you have years of stuff, be involved, don’t procrastinate and do not wait until your senior year!”
