Swim season has started, and our team is at it again. The girls Swim team is coming into this season defending the State Title as they rolled over the competition last year. This year they seemed to have the same battle plan win, and win BIG. The guys swim team was also quite good last year, and has shown Amazing talent this year also winning all of their meets! It should be an existing team to watch this year as the chase for the region and state titles begin.
The team leans on their Captains Katie Jowers, Avery Hansen, Andy Lambert, Arren Hill, and Brady Heaps. These select individuals have earned the trust of the team and of the coaches. So far this year our team has not lost a meet, but this year there is new competition that isn’t to be under estimated. Skyline Drop from a 5A school Down to 4A and they have a powerful team, which will be a serious test of our team’s power. If we can get to and past a meet with skyline our team will have a great shot for another state title.
With the Girls swim team defending the State Title they hope for another blow out season. Katie Jowers Said “Defending a State Title is huge for us. It pushes us every day in practice because we know we won’t get it without a lot of hard work. The State title has united our team and makes us more dedicated.” Gabbey Beard Freshman is an amazing young swimmer who is already contributing a lot of points to the team. She should be fun to watch in her next four years with our Wildcat Swim Team. We also have some Amazing swimmers returning from last year’s team. Avery Hansen and Katie Jowers both seniors are the power house of this team, they are both looking for individual state titles in the 50 and the 100 freestyle this year. Katie was the highest scorer for the team last season at state as she anchored the 200 medley relay, and the 200 free relays. Alexis Ralph was a huge help last year for relays and also placed very well in individual events. These three swimmers are looking for a great season, and carry the team with them hoping to lead the team to another state title.
The Guys swim team has exploded out of the gate this season winning every meet they’ve been to. The captains Brady Heaps, Arren Hill, and Andy Lambert are looking for a great season and hoping for a region title and striving for the prize of State. Three new swimmers show great promise and look to help the team roll over the competition Freshman Mitch Hawley, and Sophomore Dylan Wood and Daniel Avery all are on the A relays and have put up an outstanding amount of points for the team. The team looks to improve on their last season and the defiantly have the talent to do so with a lot of hard work our team will have a great shot at a region and state title.
The team should be extremely exciting to watch and follow as we progress this season the girls defending state the guys blowing away the competition this year we should see an amazing team and some record breaking meets. The team is amazing and rolling over our competition. We all look forward to the region and possible state title.
